Lincolnshire's finest produce goes to london for "Meet the Chef" Event
The Boundary, 2-4 Boundary Street, London E2 7DD - Monday 29th March, 12 Noon
Lincolnshire based business QV Foods and Select Lincolnshire, the project championed for raising the profile of Lincolnshire’s food and drink, have joined forces to take county produce to a special London ‘Meet the Chef’ event on Monday 29 March 2010.
QV are passionate about the quality and range of products produced in their home county and as such after several successful collaborations with the Select Lincolnshire team, QV Foods are delighted to be able to use their network of contacts with leading London Chefs to help promote products for fellow Select Lincolnshire members.
The ‘Meet the Chef’ event will take place on Monday 29 March at The Boundary Restaurant, 12 noon until 4pm. In total 10 specially selected and influential chefs, including Pierre Koffman, who are keen to discover more about Lincolnshire produce have been invited to the event. They will be introduced to Lincolnshire suppliers and treated to a meal prepared by The Boundary Restaurant. From the moment they arrive to the time they leave they will be treated to a full Lincolnshire menu.
Jill McCarthy, Project Manager for Select Lincolnshire said, “The Meet the Chef event is part of the ongoing work Select Lincolnshire is doing to promote the quality and range of Lincolnshire food and drink. Some county businesses already have contracts to supply London based restaurants and hospitality businesses which is excellent news; this event we hope will inspire more chefs to use Lincolnshire produce in the future.”
“Throughout the day QV Foods and Select Lincolnshire will be on hand to help county suppliers get the most from the opportunity by networking with potential London based customers,” added Simon Martin, Sales and Marketing Director from QV Foods. “We’re using our industry contacts to transport produce to London for the event. Setting up a route to market is often the most challenging part for smaller producers, but thanks to partnership working we hope that this will no longer be an issue they have to think about.”
